BUCK ISLAND NATIONAL MONUMENT
Updated 09/30/07

This is a "must do" attraction on St. Croix.  Buck Island is a small island located just off of St. Croix's north shore.   It's a U.S. National Park and it's totally uninhabited......well uninhabited by humans, there's a lot of Hawksbill and Green Sea Turtles that nest on the island along with several species of tropical birds.

We don't dive Buck Island.  While it offers great snorkeling and an excellent beach, the walls and coral gardens all along our north shore make for much better diving.

There are several companies that offer Buck Island tours.  Nearly all offer full or half day tours and all include a guided tour through the snorkel trail and some time on one of the prettiest white sand beach you've ever seen.

We highly recommend the following operators:   (and by the way these listings are NOT advertisements)

Big Beard's Adventure Tours -- using two large catamarans
DIVA -- -- six people or less
