Captains log, Reliance 16 April

Easter Sunday Fun!

They say April showers bring May flowers, but here April showers fill our Cisterns!

The afternoon trip was less than stellar, rain showers, 15 knot winds and sporty seas made the transit to the dive sites interesting to say the least. Seriously, the Captain was wearing a wetsuit and mask to drive!

But for the eight Barry University students finishing their open water certification, and two certified divers who were diving in 45 degree water last week, they couldn't wait to hit the water!

At turquoise bay after three attempts to get tied up to the mooring, (Captains fault) divers checked out turtles, sharks, horse eyed jacks, some barracuda, lobster and snapping shrimp hanging out with the corkscrew anemones.

Then off to Scotch Bank, where Cory says he saw a leatherback turtle, but the divers said it was just 6 ft 6 250 lb Cory peeking to find the boat. But seriously a leatherback turtle!!

Congratulations to all the Barry University students on their open water certifications!
