Captains Log MANTA RAY SUNDAY on the Northshore
Out for the AM two dive trip, first to the wall at Salt river, were Divers checked out some amazing reef life including Bermuda Chubs, Pufferfish, Smooth nosed Trunkfish, a Caribbean Reef Shark, schools of Bluerunners, as well as all the regular marine life found on the east wall.
Then, At the Staff favorite, Turquoise Bay, in addition to the regulars (Turtles, Sharks and Eels) Divers got quite the show from a schools of 30-40 Atlantic Spade fish performing an underwater synchronized ballet.
Out for the afternoon two tank dive, with open water students completing their certification, and a DSD getting a feel for diving. At Scotch Bank, the open water students got quite the experience when a 12-14 foot Manta Ray decided to pass over the top of the students and play in their bubbles! Everyone got to check out some nurse sharks as well.
At our second Dive site, it was a turtle show, divers got to interact with 4 huge Green turtles, as well as Parrot fish, Squid, Barracuda, some cool little cleaner shrimp, gobies, and Grunts.
Congratulations to Adam, Kayley, and Micah on completing their open water certification. Amanda, our DSD, had so much fun she’s starting her Open Water certification tomorrow!
